WeWork

For WeWork, we translated the spirit of the North East into a contemporary workspace where culture meets collaboration. Inspired by traditional cane weaving patterns, the design brings rhythm, structure, and identity into a modern setting, creating a visual language that feels both rooted and relevant.

The project blends handcrafted techniques with architectural precision, transforming functional spaces into expressive environments. Every pattern, line, and material choice reflects a balance between heritage and innovation where craft is not just decorative, but integral to the experience of the space.

Designed for movement, interaction, and everyday use, this installation adds depth and character to the workspace while maintaining clarity and purpose. It stands as a seamless integration of tradition into modern work culture subtle, thoughtful, and distinctly unique.

Anant Ambani Wedding

For Anant Ambani’s pre-wedding celebrations, we brought the essence of North Eastern craftsmanship into a setting of scale and celebration. Each piece was meticulously handcrafted, blending intricate cane work with sculptural forms that felt both festive and refined creating an atmosphere that was rich in detail yet grounded in authenticity

The process was deeply collaborative, where design met precision and time-honored techniques were elevated to match the grandeur of the occasion. Every structure carried the mark of the artisan’s hand, turning decorative elements into statements of culture and craft.

Set within a larger narrative of celebration, our work added warmth, texture, and identity to the space proving that even in the most luxurious settings, true beauty lies in the honesty of handmade design.

Ekarth Studio

At Ekarth Studio, every detail is shaped to create a sense of calm that feels natural and unforced. The space is built around the idea of slowing down where textures, materials, and light come together in quiet harmony. Bamboo and cane form the foundation of the design, bringing in warmth and an organic character that connects the indoors with the outside world. Soft fabrics and gentle tones layer the space, allowing it to feel lived-in rather than styled, comfortable rather than constructed.

The intention was not just to design a room, but to create an experience one that feels grounded, intimate, and restorative. Light filters through the woven surfaces, casting subtle patterns that change through the day, adding depth without overwhelming the space. Every element is thoughtfully placed, ensuring that nothing feels excessive and everything feels purposeful. The circular form, natural finishes, and handcrafted details work together to create a sense of flow, making the space feel both enclosed and open at the same time.

Ashwin's Home

For Ashwin's Home, we created a vertical installation that transforms light into a sculptural experience. Suspended at varying heights, each handcrafted piece brings depth and rhythm to the space turning an otherwise functional area into a striking visual focal point.

Woven with precision using natural materials, the forms diffuse light softly, casting a warm and inviting glow across the interiors. The composition is intentional yet effortless, allowing each element to stand on its own while contributing to a cohesive whole.

The result is a space that feels alive with light elegant, grounded, and deeply comforting. A reflection of how thoughtful craftsmanship can elevate everyday living into something quietly extraordinary.

Silkalaya

For Silkalaya, we introduced handcrafted lighting that complements the vibrancy of the space while grounding it in warmth and texture. Suspended forms made from natural materials bring a soft, inviting glow, balancing the richness of colors and patterns within the store.

The design blends seamlessly into the retail environment, adding character without overpowering the merchandise. Each piece is thoughtfully placed to enhance the spatial experience guiding movement, highlighting key areas, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for visitors.

Rooted in traditional craftsmanship yet designed for a modern setting, the installation reflects a refined balance of culture and function elevating the retail space into something immersive and memorable.

Kolkatta Bungalow

For this Kolkata home, we designed a partition that balances openness with intimacy. Using a combination of structured metal framing and woven natural material, the curtain becomes more than a divider it becomes a design element that gently shapes the space.

The flowing form allows light and air to pass through while still offering a sense of separation, creating a subtle transition between areas without closing them off completely. The textures add warmth against the clean architectural lines, bringing a handcrafted softness into the interior.

It’s a quiet intervention functional yet expressive where privacy is achieved not through walls, but through thoughtful design rooted in material and movement.

Chennai Café

For this Chennai café, we designed a statement installation that moves like a continuous flow through the space. The handcrafted form winds across the ceiling, drawing the eye and creating a sense of movement that energizes the environment while maintaining a warm, inviting atmosphere.

Made using natural materials, the structure diffuses light softly, casting a golden glow that enhances the dining experience. The interplay of curves, light, and texture adds depth to the space, making it feel both dynamic and intimate.

Blending craft with contemporary design, the installation becomes more than lighting. it becomes a central experience, shaping how the space is seen, felt, and remembered.

Café Thea

At Café Thea, seating was never treated as just furniture it became part of the atmosphere itself.

House of Locals thoughtfully curated each chair to bring warmth, texture, and a sense of relaxed sophistication into the space. The woven craftsmanship, bold monochrome patterns, and soft sculptural silhouettes were selected to complement the café’s earthy draped ceiling, terrazzo flooring, and natural daylight that flows through the open terrace.

Every piece was designed to encourage pause whether for slow conversations, quiet mornings, or long afternoons over coffee. The contrast of organic materials with graphic patterns creates a balance between rustic calm and contemporary character, allowing the café to feel both elevated and deeply welcoming.

By blending artisanal detailing with functional comfort, House of Locals transformed Café Thea’s seating experience into an extension of the café’s identity understated, immersive, and intentionally designed for people to stay a little longer.

Working on a festival

What makes a festival? It’s a question that has been asked and answered in countless ways over the years. For some, it’s about the music – the chance to see your favourite bands perform live on stage. For others, it’s about the food, the fashion, or the cultural experience. But at its core, a festival is about something more than any one of these things – it’s about bringing people together to celebrate, to connect, and to share in something special.
