Custom Residential Lighting

Illuminated Weaves | ARC Architects Residence

Designed for a private residence by ARC Architects, this bespoke lighting installation explored a refined double-weave cane technique paired with integrated illumination. From concept development and 3D exploration to final execution, every detail was carefully considered to create a light fixture that functioned as both a source of illumination and a sculptural centerpiece within the home.

Vantara Guest Experience

Ambani Wedding, Jamnagar

Commissioned as part of the Vantara-themed wedding celebrations in Jamnagar, House of Locals designed and executed over 250 handcrafted pieces within a three-week timeline. The project included bespoke chandeliers, jungle-inspired high chairs, illuminated cane trees, and custom planters that reflected the immersive nature-inspired brief. Delivered as a turnkey solution, the project showcased HOL's ability to manage large-scale production, coordination, and installation while maintaining exceptional craftsmanship under demanding timelines.

BangaloreCraft Meets Contemporary Workspaces

Bamboo Panels | WeWork

For WeWork Bangalore, traditional bamboo weaving was reinterpreted into a contemporary wall installation inspired by the culture and landscapes of North East India. Working with graphics developed by the WeWork team, HOL translated modern visual language into handcrafted bamboo panels through extensive prototyping and material experimentation. The result was a unique fusion of heritage craftsmanship and modern workplace design.

Reception Ceiling Transformation

The Living Oasis | NJ Design Studios

Designed in collaboration with NJ Design Studios, this office reception was envisioned as a contemporary oasis using locally crafted cane and water hyacinth. Multiple weaving techniques were explored to create depth, texture, and movement, complemented by integrated lighting and natural foliage. The installation transformed the reception into a memorable and welcoming focal point while celebrating regional craftsmanship.

Signature Cane Installation

Organic Luxury | Ananta Bliss Resort, Karnataka

Created for a luxury resort villa in Karnataka, this sculptural installation showcased HOL's signature free-flowing cane framework combined with handcrafted water hyacinth detailing. The piece was designed to complement the resort's natural setting while introducing a strong handcrafted identity. The project highlights how traditional materials can be elevated into contemporary luxury environments.

Blooming Roof Structures | Bamboo Resort, AssamBamboo Architecture & Construction

Natural Roofs | Ekarth Studio

Designed in collaboration with Ekarth Studio, these custom bamboo villa roofs were inspired by the form of blooming flowers. Double-woven cane petals were crafted into large-scale dome structures engineered for outdoor use. Combining traditional craftsmanship with architectural detailing, the project demonstrates the versatility of bamboo and cane in contemporary construction.

Organic Form Partition | Kolkata Bungalow

Designed by Abin Studios, this bespoke partition combines organically shaped metal framing with handcrafted cane weaving to create a striking architectural feature. More than a divider, the installation acts as a sculptural element that defines space while maintaining visual openness and warmth.

Community-Led Festival Design

Crafting Experiences Through Collaboration

Since 2019, House of Locals has partnered with communities across Assam and Arunachal Pradesh to design and execute craft-led festival environments. From installations, seating systems, photo booths, dining areas, and community spaces to functional infrastructure such as washrooms and gathering halls, each project is created in collaboration with local artisans and residents, making the process as meaningful as the outcome.

Design Innovation for Artisan Livelihoods

Design Development Workshop | Kali Tiger Reserve, Karnataka

Conducted in partnership with the Government of Karnataka, this workshop focused on strengthening women's artisan groups engaged in coir weaving. Through collaborative design exercises, prototyping, and skill enhancement sessions, artisans developed over 20 new product concepts while building on their existing craft knowledge. The initiative demonstrated how thoughtful design intervention can create new market opportunities while preserving traditional skills.

Custom Cylinder Cover Solution

Reimagining Everyday Infrastructure | Reliance Industries

What began as a practical challenge evolved into a new product innovation. To improve the visual appeal of a restaurant environment, HOL designed handcrafted cylinder covers using natural materials that seamlessly integrated with the interior design language. The project reflects our belief that even the most functional objects can become opportunities for thoughtful design.

Collected and handcrafted into sustainable homeware such as baskets, tableware, bathroom accessories, and decorative pieces, offering an eco-friendly alternative to synthetic materials.

Bamboo

A versatile and sustainable material used for furniture, lighting, architectural structures, wall and ceiling treatments, partitions, baskets, and everyday lifestyle products. Ideal for both indoor and outdoor applications.

Cane

Lightweight yet durable, cane lends itself beautifully to furniture, lighting, decorative panels, storage solutions, installations, and handcrafted accents that add warmth and texture to a space.

Water Hyacinth

Transformed from an invasive aquatic plant into beautiful handcrafted products including rugs, mats, lighting, baskets, poufs, wall décor, bags, and tableware.
